Across the Room’s Black Tie Gala Evenings are our flagship singles events; held in Essex, Herts, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambs, Kent, Berkshire and London at four and five star hotels. Set in beautiful surroundings a feeling of adventure awaits you. Our exclusive, sparkling Black Tie singles events sell out as soon as they appear in our programme.

Attracting over 200 single people at each Black Tie Ball, these events are a new type of dating like nothing you will have experienced before, so coupled with our Dating Agency, the opportunities to meet new and stimulating single people will be endless! Attention to detail at these singles events is second to none with equal numbers of unattached ladies and gentleman attending.

Are there table moves?

Yes, the gentlemen move after the starter and the main course. This keeps the dynamics of the table alive and the conversation flowing! We also have Dance Cards on the tables; these are excellent ice breakers which keeps an exciting atmosphere on the dance floor! Who Attends?

Black Tie Balls attract a varied age range 28-68 with singles events to suit each age group. We carefully plan our seating arrangements to make sure you are seated within your correct age band. We rotate the gentleman on the tables after the starter and main course to keep the dynamics of the table alive! We have subtle ice breakers in place including our dance cards which keeps everyone on the dance floor!

I'm coming alone, will I be met on arrivaI?

A high majority of our members come alone to their first singles event, so rest assured you will soon feel relaxed and ready to meet other single members! As you approach the doors of these spectacular venues you will be met by Eleanor and her hostesses and introduced to other new and existing single members. You will instantly feel relaxed with a glass of fizz and great company. The atmosphere is electric; this is a must for new members who want to experience these exclusive singles events.
